Over the last couple of years we have seen a real resurgence of the industrial trend and it is showing no sign of slowing down. In fact it has now reached the point where it has spread out from the inner city homes and hipster cafes and hit the suburban. Which is great, I love the look. However, it does need to be used with caution.
I recommend using the ethos of the industrial vibe rather than the full on application. This means using natural woods and finishes. The modern style is going back to the basics with raw wood and simple lines as a balance for all the hard surfaces that were our previous staple in interior design.
It is also about repurposing and refreshing. A lot of the vintage pieces are coming back into fashion, but rather than just setting up grannys old chair in the corner, the chair is painted or reupholstered to add a new take on an old look.
